- Bulk-forming laxative. Stimulant laxative. Promotes bowel movements by increasing bulk volume and water content. Provides gentle relief of constipation and/or irregularity. Helps promote bowel movement (by direct action on the large intestine). For the short-term relief of occasional constipation Cayenne is traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to aid digestion.
